I went to Aso Shrine in Aso City, Kumamoto Prefecture. I had planned to stop by after visiting Mount Aso, but I discovered that I could get there directly by train! I took the train there and the bus back to Aso Station. Aso Shrine is the head shrine of the approximately 500 Aso shrines across Japan. With a history spanning over 2,000 years, beautiful architecture, including the tower gate and worship hall, is a must-see. Surrounded by the natural beauty of Aso, the grounds were so peaceful that just walking around them was soothing. The air was so clear that it even cleared my mind. ✨ This is a place I highly recommend stopping by before heading to Mount Aso. #AsoShrine #KumamotoTrip
