Awesome place. Glad Perak made this into tourism place. I was here a few year ago only visiting outside the gate. Now we can go inside the place and even going for a tour inside the dredge. But we missed the slot this time. Will come back for the guided tour in the future (since my hometown is so near). The garden surround also made the place looks nicer and fresh. Kapal Korek in Tanjung Tualang is more than just what people imagine it to be. It is actually a big park with its own Maze Park inside it. If you plan to find your way out of the Maze Park, you better bring along water to drink because it's kind of tricky to get out of it. The Maze Park is really beautiful with lots of nice background for you take picture with. There is also a nice small cafe that sells drinks and snacks, and you can hang out a bit while enjoying the view. Your kids will have so much fun here as there is playground and rabbit park. We did not get into the Kapal Korek during our visit as it was already late. But if you're interested to check out the inside of Kapal Korek, you can purchase the tickets at the counter and you can go on a guided trip inside it. If you have time when passing through Ipoh, you can come and have a look. Silverlakes Outlets is located in Batu Gajah, Perak, about 30-40 minutes from Ipoh. (It’s a bit far) There are still not many shops here, The Coach Coffee Shop is one of the highlights. You can try their hot chocolate and cakes. If you are interested in Coach products, you can also take a look. There are separate areas for men and women, but there are not many styles. They are 50% off or on sale. If you have children with you, you can buy tickets to visit the dinosaur exhibition in the same area (content unknown) Other areas include Kate Spade bags, sporting goods, etc.

In January 1913, Malayan Tin Dredging (MTD) introduced the first dredge in Batu Gajah. Due to declined tin price, operations started to shut down and ‘floating factories’ were dismantled or sold off. Today, there is only one remaining tin dredge known as TT5. It was built in England by F.W. Payne & Sons in 1938, upgraded in 1963 and had continued its operation for 44 years until August 1982. Very nicely built up place. Put your geography and history knowledge into this place. There is a guided tour that comes with it with a topped up fee. Didn't manage to go due to time constraints, but would definitely go in future. Highly recommended if you visit Perak State. Is very helpful educational n fun way to spent with family. Underage kids not recommended as the tour in the ship itself can be quite dangerous with heavy equipment n tools but trip to the maze next door are more suitable
