Beijing Planetarium is located in Xicheng District, Beijing. It is a national first-class museum and a national 4A-level tourist attraction. It covers an area of 20,000 square meters with a building area of 26,000 square meters, divided into Hall A (the old hall) and Hall B (the new hall). Hall A was built and opened in 1957, and it is the first large-scale planetarium in China, as well as the first large-scale planetarium on the Asian continent at that time. Hall B was completed and opened at the end of 2004. The museum has a rich collection of 773 pieces (sets), including 15 precious cultural relics (sets). Important exhibits include the treasure of the museum, the 'Nandan Iron Meteorite', the Foucault pendulum built in 1957, and half a gram of moon rock collected by astronauts from the Apollo 17 manned spacecraft in 1972. Ticket prices: The general ticket price for the exhibition hall is 10 yuan, and the general ticket price for the theater is 30-45 yuan. Those who purchase theater tickets can visit the exhibition hall for free on the same day with a valid theater ticket.
