I can't believe we managed to visit so many attractions in Beijing in just five days.

My boyfriend said, "The meaning of travel is to slow down and enjoy," but I was like, "No way, Beijing is so huge, and we're on a tight schedule."🤭 So, with the ambition to conquer Beijing, I made this itinerary and embarked on our whirlwind tour.✊️ Day 1️⃣ ✈️ Arrived at Capital Airport in the evening, took the subway directly to the hotel, and rested up for the next day. Day 2️⃣ 📍 Universal Beijing Resort 🪪 Tickets: Student tickets were priced at 380 CNY💰, and Trip.com was the only platform offering a discount where I could use points. 👚 Rentals: I rented a Toothless hat, bear headband, and scarf on Taobao for only 40 CNY💰. They delivered it directly to the park, which was super cost-effective. 🎡 Fun: I happened to visit during a peak period (over 30,000 people), so I spent the whole day queuing and only managed to experience half of the popular attractions. My feet were killing me after standing all day😬, but as a strong, independent Chinese woman, I refused to buy an Express Pass, haha. I managed to go on all the rides I wanted most. In the end, I stayed until 8:30 pm to watch the light show. Overall, I had a great time. 🍗 Food: We had a meal at the Three Broomsticks restaurant. We ordered the roasted chicken and ribs platter, fish and chips🍟, butterbeer🍻, and cream of mushroom soup, which cost a total of 304 CNY💰. We were stuffed. The butterbeer was unique and delicious😍. Everything else was just okay. Overall, it wasn't very cost-effective. Unless you're like me and absolutely have to take that iconic photo, it's not really worth it. Day 3️⃣ 📍 Forbidden City - Beihai Park - Nanluoguxiang - Shichahai 💄 Makeover: I spent about 3 hours getting my hair and makeup done at Wangfu Century, which cost 398 CNY💰. It was a bit pricey, but the makeup was exquisite, way better than those assembly-line makeovers! 🥳 Fun: We didn't know that gege costumes weren't allowed at Tiananmen Square, so we were stopped when we finally got there.😭 We quickly took a taxi to the Forbidden City, but because we slept in late that day, by the time we arrived, it was past the latest entry time (3:30 pm). However, they still let us in! Thank goodness!🧎‍♀️ With limited time, we took the direct route, which took about 1.5 hours, and took tons of photos. It was a bit rushed, but we got some great shots. I'm very satisfied. I'll definitely come back again! 🍲 Dinner: We had copper hot pot. The flavor was relatively mild. Locals add ginger to the broth, eat mutton, and drink alcohol to ward off the cold. I guess we had to try it once to truly experience Beijing. 🚶 Stroll: After dinner, we walked through Beihai Park🌈. It's huge, so we only covered a small area. It was quite cold, and the lake was half-frozen, which was quite a unique sight. Then, we rushed to Nanluoguxiang⛩️. It's a large area, but very commercialized. We bought some snacks and went to Shichahai. There were lights in the evening, but the lake in the middle was too big, and there were no boats or lanterns, so it felt a bit empty.
