Hong Kong Outing with Kids | A Day Trip for Families in Tsim Sha Tsui and Central

Taking the kids to Hong Kong for the first time, we chose the area around Tsim Sha Tsui and Central, one of Hong Kong's landmarks. We saw the Disney exhibition, rode the Star Ferry, ate at Kau Kee Beef Brisket, browsed the Harry Potter shop, sat on the Ferris wheel, and tasted the Regal ice cream. It was a full day trip back and forth from Shenzhen. ⛳️Route: Shenzhen Futian Port - Tsim Sha Tsui - The Peninsula Hong Kong (walked by, there's an antique luxury car at the entrance) - 1881 (passed by, there are installations) - Harbour City (Disney's 100th Anniversary Exhibition) - Star Ferry to Central - Kau Kee Beef Brisket (lunch) - Central Market (Harry Potter themed store) - Ferris wheel - Star Ferry back to Tsim Sha Tsui - Avenue of Stars - MTR back to Shenzhen 🚆Transportation: MTR + Walking + Star Ferry ‼️During the summer vacation, there is a free travel policy for children aged 3-11 taking the MTR to and from Shenzhen. 👉【Money-Saving Travel Tips】Children's Octopus Card: Before entering the station, you need to tap the card 💳 on the machine in the MTR station service area to enjoy a free ride for that trip. You can ask the platform staff for the machine's location. Remember to tap the card before returning to enjoy the free ride. This event lasts until August 31st. 👉The Children's Octopus Card can be purchased at the MTR platform 🚇 service points, with a deposit of 50 HKD (❗️A deposit fee will be charged if the card is returned within three months or used less than five times; Octopus cards sold from vending machines apparently cannot be returned). When purchased for the first time, it includes 50 HKD and does not require additional top-up. 👉The Octopus Card can be used on the Star Ferry ⛴ and many convenience stores. 🎭Play: 🔸Harbour City's Disney 100th Anniversary Exhibition📸: Great for photos, the exhibition areas are quite scattered. Free 🆓, taking photos and strolling through the mall takes more than half a day. The exhibition lasts until September 3rd. 🔸Star Ferry🚢: If it's your first time in Hong Kong, it's definitely recommended as a mode of transportation. It offers a different perspective of Tsim Sha Tsui and Central, and it's a novel experience for kids. 🔸Harry Potter themed store🧙‍♂️: Located on the first floor of Central Market, it's not very large, but there are many scenes for Harry Potter fans to take photos 📸, and there's a lot of merchandise to browse, some of which are not available in mainland China. 🔸Ferris wheel🎡: Adult ticket is 20 HKD, children aged 3-11/seniors etc. are 10 HKD, private cabin is 160 HKD (if you want to ride the carousel 🎠, you can buy tickets together, 20/person). The Ferris wheel takes 8 people per cabin. It rotates 3 times in the air, about 20 minutes, with air conditioning inside. If you're sharing a cabin, it's recommended to choose seats near the cabin entrance for a better view of Victoria Harbour when taking photos 📷. There's an ice cream cart at the bottom of the Ferris wheel, and kids will probably like the Regal ice cream 🍦. 🔸Avenue of Stars: Great for taking photos and strolling. If you have the energy, you can stay until after sunset to see the night view of Victoria Harbour 🌃, which is more comfortable at night. 🍴Eat Since we were going to Central Market, we had lunch at the nearby old restaurant 🍽 Kau Kee Beef Brisket. The taste is indeed good, but it's also very crowded, and you need to queue up during meal times. Dining is at shared tables, and bringing your own food and drinks is not allowed. The minimum spend per person is 65 HKD. ⭕️Other: Many small eateries only accept cash and do not take 1000 HKD notes. Air conditioning in Hong Kong's subway and malls can be quite strong, so it's best to bring a light jacket. Be sure to wear a pair of comfortable walking shoes. During the day, outdoor temperatures are high, so pay attention to sun protection and hydration.
