Prehistoric Shelter - Catherine's Cave

#spintheworld 🙏 Let us welcome you to one of five show caves of the Moravian Karst. The Moravian Karst is regarded throughout Europe as a classical karst landscape and belongs to the famous karst regions in the central Europe. 🇪🇺 In the whole Moravian Karst more than 1100 caves have been discovered, but only five of them are open to the gublic - Catherine's Cave, Punkva Caves, Balcarka Cave, SloupSosüvka Caves and Vypustek Cave. All caves were formed in devonian limestones, that are about 350 - 380 mil years old.🧓 These caves represent an important part of the natural and cultural riches of our country and in order to care for them effectively the caves and the entire surrounding area are protected by law. The whole area was proclaimed The Moravian Karst Protected Landscape Region. That's why the visitors are allowed to go only on the pathway and it's forbidden to touch any dripstones. 💧 The Catherine's Cave is about 580m long. The temperature is about 7-8°C (ca 46°F) the air humidity is almost 100%. This climate is very good for the people, who suffer from respiratory problems. In winter there are the bats here. That's why this cave is closed (December, January, February).🦇 There are about 4 000 caves in the Czech Republic altogether, but only 14 show caves (five of them are here in the Moravian Karst). Tips and Tricks ⁉️ 🚆The closest city to the cave is Blansko. You can get there by train from Brno. As you exit the train station in Blansko turn left at the first roundabout and in 100m you'll see bus stop on your left. From there a direct bus to Cathrerine's Cave departs couple times a day. 💱Have some local currency on you so that you would be able to pay for your rides. Enjoy!🤍❤️💙 #tripblazers #trip
