MERBABU MOUNTAIN

Mount Merbabu with an altitude of 3,142 masl is located in 3 regencies, namely Semarang, Boyolali and Magelang. Mount Merbabu is an old volcano adjacent to Mount Merapi which is an active volcano. Mount Merbabu comes from the words "Meru" which means mountain and "Babu" which means woman. Mount Merbabu is known as a sleeping mountain even though it actually has 5 craters, namely Condrodimuko Crater, Kombang, Kendang, Rebab and Sambernyowo Crater. To climb Mount Merbabu there are 4 alternative routes that are often used by climbers including the Thekelan, Selo, Cunthel and Wekas ​​routes with different distances and levels of difficulty but will still reach the same main peak, which is 3,142 masl. Mount Merbabu has 7 peaks that have different panoramic beauty and are admired by climbers. The two most famous peaks for climbers are Puncak Syarif which is located at an altitude of 3,120 m above sea level and Kenteng Songo Peak with an altitude of 3,142 masl. These two peaks have different natural panoramas.
