Secret Treasure Trove

#summervacay Okay so, Oub Kham Museum wasn’t even on my radar, but wow, what a hidden gem! It’s like walking into a treasure chest of Northern Thai culture. This isn’t your basic museum with dusty labels and yawns. Nope. It's packed with gold, silk, royal stuff, and ancient bling from Lanna, Laos, Myanmar, you name it. The owner’s actually a historian and guided the tour himself (sometimes), which makes everything feel super personal and way more interesting. The way he tells the stories? Low-key dramatic and kind of theatrical, in a good way. It’s not a huge place, but every room feels like a secret being revealed. There’s this gold throne room that seriously made my jaw drop. You can’t take photos inside most of it, but honestly, just soaking it in is enough. A little off the tourist path, and definitely not crowded. If you’re into history, art, or just wanna see something different in Chiang Rai, Oub Kham is a must.
