#2024wish During my recent journey, I embarked on a captivating expedition to the Preah Vihear Temple nestled in the heart of Preah Vihear Province. This remarkable destination boasts a breathtaking panorama and stands as a testament to Cambodia's rich ancient heritage. Prasat Preah Vihear, one of the most stunning Angkorian monuments, is perched on a clifftop near the Thai border. From this vantage point, visitors can enjoy breathtaking views of the Cambodian lowlands, situated 550m below. This temple holds great significance as a pilgrimage site, having been constructed by seven Khmer monarchs, starting with Yasovarman I and concluding with Suryavarman II. As with other temple-mountains of its time, Prasat Preah Vihear was designed to symbolize Mt Meru and was dedicated to the Hindu deity Shiva.
