The Danjiangkou Dam is a part of the South-to-North Water Diversion Project

To visit the Danjiangkou Dam scenic area, the entrance fee is fifty yuan, and the sightseeing car ticket is fifteen yuan. Enter the scenic area, see the dam, and pass through the dam to the sightseeing car station. Take the car to the top of the dam to see the reservoir and the cityscape. The dam is a part of the South-to-North Water Diversion Project, which runs from Danjiangkou to Beijing, a total length of more than 1400 kilometers. When the reservoir is full, it is up to 170 meters deep, and it takes a year to fill up, usually filling up once every ten years or so. After a brief understanding, there is no remarkable scenery, so I left the scenic area and took a taxi back to the RV parking lot. Then all the way on the highway, out of Hubei, through Hunan, Guangxi to Guangdong, and finally back to Hainan, completing this long-distance self-driving trip.
