Between Shi Wei and Erguna

We returned to Erguna from Shi Wei village via a different route. This time, we followed the road alongside the Erguna river, constantly looking out onto Russian plains. The scenery is glorious here and the weather was perfect to be able to see as far as the hills allows it. Stopping in Qika for lunch at a traditional ethnic Russian home where we picked our own vegetables for the table, we savored the traditional and simple architecture of the buildings. The food was delicious and the tea inviting, the conversation unparalleled. The grasslands are a place for complete zen.
