A temple in the Yangtze River - Ezhou Guanyin Pavilion

Guanyin Pavilion is located on Longpanji in the middle of the Yangtze River, outside the east gate of Ezhou City, Hubei Province. It is the only temple in the Yangtze River and is known as the "First Pavilion of the Yangtze River." Guanyin Pavilion was built in the Song Dynasty and has stood in the Yangtze River for more than 700 years, withstanding many floods. 📍Highlights Architecture: Guanyin Pavilion is a typical wooden frame structure pavilion-style building, 24 meters long, 10 meters wide, and 14 meters high. The pavilion has one pavilion, three halls, and two floors, with a total area of more than 300 square meters. Visitors can enter the three main halls in turn and then go up to Chunyang Tower. 📍History and culture: Guanyin Pavilion was rebuilt in the fifth year of Zhizheng in the Yuan Dynasty (1345) and was renovated many times in the Ming and Qing Dynasties. It is an important cultural symbol of Ezhou. Guanyin Pavilion not only carries profound historical and cultural significance but is also a witness to the Yangtze River, witnessing the rise and fall of the river. 📍Natural landscape: Longpanji, where Guanyin Pavilion is located, is the only reef in the river, surrounded by the river, making it an excellent location to enjoy the scenery of the Yangtze River. During the flood season, the water floods the pavilion, leaving only the high windows, or even only the eaves and dragon heads in the Yangtze River, showing a unique magnificence. Travel tips 📍Viewing location: Visitors can overlook the Yangtze River from the embankment outside Xiaodongmen, where they can see Longpanji, where Guanyin Pavilion stands, and the scenery is very spectacular. ⚠️Note: Guanyin Pavilion is not open to the public, but visitors can look across the river and feel its majestic figure. 📍Transportation: It is about 70 kilometers from Wuhan to Guanyin Pavilion, passing through the Wue Expressway, and takes about 1 hour by car.
