This green space is set up along the Shimizu River, and a pond and stream where fireflies and river snails can live is arranged as a "firefly forest". It is a rare place now to be able to see fireflies in a natural setting in a park in front of a city station! You can enjoy cherry blossoms in spring at Sakura Square. This park is also home to Gifu's shared bicycle service "Gifu-ride", so it is a great place to use as a base for sightseeing! After walking a little, you will see a sign that says "Sushi Kaido". The "Sushi Highway" is described as a road along which sweetfish caught by cormorant fishing on the Nagara River were transported to be presented as sweetfish sushi, made by fermenting sweetfish with rice.
