Exquisite family vacation hotel on the banks of the Li River, enjoy the landscape painting without stepping out.

🩷In the past, when visiting Guilin, most people would head straight to Yangshuo. It seems that this is my first time venturing into the city of Guilin. The scenery within the city is surprisingly delightful, with the city nestled among mountains and the mountains themselves appearing as if they are part of a painting, a sight that is truly captivating. 🐰I stayed at the Shangri-La Hotel in Guilin, located on the banks of the Li River. The hotel's exterior, with its traditional Chinese architecture, red pillars and eaves, exudes an oriental charm. The hotel enjoys a prime location on the Li River, with a vast backyard that leads directly to the river. The hotel's garden also houses a mini zoo, home to peacocks, ostriches, pigs, rabbits, and other adorable animals, making it a favorite among families with children. 🏞️What I love the most is the view from my room. By simply looking out the window, I can take in the picturesque landscape of Guilin. The floor-to-ceiling window frames a beautiful scroll of landscape painting. This is a typical Shangri-La hotel, with an elegant and dignified interior design and comprehensive facilities. The executive lounge on the 6th floor also offers an excellent view. ✅The Shangri-La Hotel in Guilin is only a 15-minute drive from the famous Elephant Trunk Hill. Nearby attractions include the Two Rivers and Four Lakes, Sun and Moon Twin Pagodas, Folded Brocade Hill, Ancient South Gate, and Guangxi Provincial Art Museum. If you prefer to stay in the hotel for a vacation, there are plenty of facilities to keep you entertained, including a lush outdoor garden, a mini zoo, a large outdoor swimming pool, an indoor heated pool, a fully equipped gym, a children's playground, and a variety of leisure and entertainment facilities such as art and craft classes and intangible cultural heritage experiences. ☕️In addition to Guilin rice noodles, I made a special trip to taste the local favorite, horse meat rice noodles, which were delicious. At the Shang Palace Chinese Restaurant in the Shangri-La Hotel, I experienced a local specialty: hand-beaten oil tea. This seemingly simple bowl of oil tea requires repeated pounding with a tea mallet. A sip of the freshly made, steaming hot oil tea leaves a lingering fragrance and an unforgettable aftertaste. 🦆Shang Palace is famous for its Cantonese, Hunan, Sichuan, and Guilin cuisines. The "Signature Peking Duck", crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, and not greasy at all, was a delight for a duck lover like me. Local specialty dishes such as "Shang Palace Beer Fish" and "Monk Fruit Braised Pork" were also delicious. The "Thick Soup Steamed Taro with Preserved Meat", made with taro from Lipu, Guangxi, was super soft and glutinous. 🦞The Western restaurant, Li Cafe, on the first floor offers a wide variety of dishes. The recent crayfish-themed buffet, featuring crayfish in sauce and spicy crayfish, was particularly popular. In your leisure time, the "Nature's Delight" afternoon tea at the lobby lounge is worth a try.
