Found a hidden gem for an autumn outing to pick oranges!

Hi everyone, I’m D Bao’s mom~ Every autumn, I have to bring the kids to Huangwan! The oranges here are truly delicious and never get boring. Today, I’m sharing a tested and fun “orange picking + hiking” one-day itinerary that’s not tiring at all! 📍 Our itinerary Navigate to “Juli Center” parking → walk the small mountain loop → pick oranges on the way down → visit Guanyin Temple → return trip 🚗 Navigation & Parking Just navigate directly to “Juli Center.” The parking lots are on both sides, with plenty of spaces and very convenient parking. 👟 Small hiking loop (kid-friendly version) We climbed the steps from Wenyuan Road and took a small loop trail. ✅ Low mountain: The total elevation is only 186 meters, super friendly for kids. D Bao climbed the whole way by himself without complaining. ✅ Great views: From the top, you can overlook vast farmland and villages. It must be even more beautiful in spring when the trees are lush! ✅ Fun factor: Along the way, we picked different leaves and looked for little bugs. Nature education made easy~ 🍊 The highlight: orange picking! After descending, we went near Jin’s Farm and picked oranges at any nice spot we found! ✅ Amazing taste: Juicy and naturally sweet, with no artificial sweetness at all. The kids loved it. ✅ Parent-child experience: Letting the kids use scissors to pick the oranges themselves gave them a great sense of accomplishment! Plus, it’s a much more vivid way to learn about orange trees than just reading books. 🙏 A pleasant surprise: Guanyin Temple After picking oranges, we drove up to Guanyin Temple (you can also walk). ✅ Peaceful environment: The temple is well maintained, with lively incense but not noisy. ✅ Separate paths for people and cars: The long corridor in photo 16 is so thoughtful, making it very safe for walking with kids. ✅ Hidden viewing platform: You can enjoy a distant view of the Qiantang River here! The scenery is very open. 💡 Tips from D Bao’s mom 1. Outfit: Dress the kids in sneakers and comfortable clothes since orange picking can get juicy. 2. Timing: I recommend hiking and picking oranges in the morning, lunch at a nearby farm, then visiting the temple in the afternoon. The pace is just right. 3. Cost: Oranges are affordable, only 1 yuan per jin (price for reference). Autumn is short, so bring your kids to embrace this natural sweetness!
