A full-day itinerary to explore The Peak Galleria

It’s been almost a year since I last visited The Peak Galleria, and with the great weather, I decided to go hiking. There are several transportation options to get to The Peak, such as taking Hong Kong’s iconic Peak Tram, buses, minibuses (green vans), taxis, or simply walking up. This time, I chose to walk 🚶🏻♀️. Starting from Central, I took the Central-Mid-Levels Escalator, passed by the Barker Road Peak Tram Station, and enjoyed the stunning views of Hong Kong under the blue skies and white clouds. You can also get a close-up view of the tram going up and down. The hiking trail is well-marked, shaded, and easy to navigate. The restaurants at The Peak Galleria have undergone some changes, with fewer tea shops, Japanese supermarkets, and sushi restaurants. Fortunately, there are still convenience stores and cha chaan tengs. The Monopoly exhibition and Madame Tussauds are still open. At the entrance of The Peak Galleria, there’s now an introduction to the Panda Family 😊. I was lucky enough to meet a staff member dressed as a panda mascot and got a free photo with them. If you’re up for a challenge, I recommend hiking up to High West (about 30 minutes). From there, you can enjoy a higher vantage point and a different perspective of Hong Kong’s scenery. The route involves stairs and is beginner-friendly. For Disney fans, The Peak Galleria has recently collaborated with Disney to set up a pop-up store and themed photo spots for visitors to enjoy.
