The Sovereign Hill Gold Mine: A must-see destination in Australia during the gold rush

The Sovereign Hill Gold Mine was built in 1970 and still retains its original appearance from the gold rush era. We entered the site at around 11 a.m. that day, and before other tourists arrived, we explored deep into the town and tried to check in first in an uninhabited area. The old shops and buildings in the town are open for exploration and shopping, and the streets are filled with the architectural style and atmosphere of the 19th century. We also met a young man in retro clothes in a bakery, shopping from the maid in the store, making us feel as if we were back in the unique Victorian times. When he picked up a bottle of modern Coke, the scene was even more ridiculous. Downstream of the town, there is a river that allows you to experience the fun of gold panning with your own hands. Although you don’t have high hopes, you may as well give it a try. After a few confused attempts, I met a friendly local gold digger (well, actually a staff member) who considerately taught me some skills. Finally, I actually found gold between the mud and sand? pink? stag? What an interesting experience. The guided tour of the underground mine is time-limited, so please be aware of this if you are travelling on your own. Remember to follow the guide closely when going down the mine, as it is like a maze inside. The tour guide will count the number of people at each check point. It doesn't matter if you get lost, she will bring everyone back to the starting point to find you. We were also fortunate enough to participate in an event to find group members in a mine. (Attached is a photo of the mine, it’s really dark!) #Australia #Australia must-visit check-in spots #Melbourne #Gold rush
