When it comes to Kyoto's five-story pagodas, Toji Temple is the place to go.

I went to the five-story pagoda at Toji Temple in Kyoto! I was fascinated by the overwhelming five-story pagoda that can be seen from Kyoto Station. I wanted to do some sightseeing in Kyoto after visiting the Kyoto Railway Museum, so I walked there. It took about 15 minutes from the Railway Museum, even with my child! We walked through a park on the way, so it felt surprisingly close. The five-story pagoda was of course overwhelming, but I was impressed by the size and structure of the building, which is also a World Heritage Site. My child was also surprised by the big Buddha, and seemed to feel something, wondering in a low voice if his wish would come true. I really want to see it at least once in my life... I felt the excitement that I couldn't experience on my school trip again after becoming an adult.
