A trip to enjoy Umeeda-mochi at Kasanoie

On the way to Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine in Fukuoka, there are many Umeeda Mochi shops lined up. Among them, I chose "Kasa no Ie" which had the longest line. Umeeda Mochi is a Japanese sweet made of sweet red bean paste wrapped in a chewy outer shell made from glutinous rice flour. It is perfect to enjoy in the afternoon with a cup of tea. Although the name has "plum" in it, it actually does not contain any plum ingredients. I was a little surprised that I could not taste the plum even after I finished eating it. #Fukuoka #Dazaifu #Umeeda Mochi
