Melbourne St. Patrick's Cathedral

St. Patrick's Cathedral is located near the Melbourne city center and can be reached by tram in a few stops. This church can be considered the largest and tallest Catholic church in the southern hemisphere. The church was officially opened in 1897, but the three Gothic spires above were not completed until 1939. Visiting the church is free and open on weekdays, but there are not many people who come to visit. On weekends, there are people taking wedding photos and holding wedding ceremonies here. The church is built of bluestone, with undulating and uneven walls on the inside, dark gray to black in color, solemn and magnificent, grand and eye-catching, gorgeously decorated yet dignified, fully showcasing the architectural style of the Renaissance. Business hours are usually from 8:30am to 5:00pm. There is a Sunday service, which usually starts at 9:00am.
