| Casa Cook Kos. If there's one hotel made for the 21st-century bohemian, it's Casa Cook Kos. This striking hotel—a resort with a distinct personality, much like its island—was crafted by designers Annabell Kutucu and Michael Schickinger. Located in Kos, a Dodecanese island in the southeastern Aegean Sea known for its numerous sandy beaches and Greek and Roman landmarks, the hotel elevates the feeling of escape to new heights in one of the island's most idyllic spots. The hotel's single- and double-story houses are modeled on traditional Greek island architecture, with a cubist, modernist, and minimalist style reflected in the simple furnishings within. However, this new Grecian escape has a more gypsy-habitation feel than its sister estate on Rhodes, with Moroccan touches creating a cozy, calming environment. Raw, natural materials and earthy tones add to the sense of relaxation, but the overall look remains firmly within the realm of modern style, ensuring the design doesn't stray into ultra-bohemian at the expense of five-star luxury.

| Beautiful Wabi-Sabi Hotel Oku Kos. Located on the island of Kos in Greece, Oku Kos is an adults-only boutique hotel that focuses on wellness vacations, continuing the healing traditions of Kos (the 'father of medicine' Hippocrates visited many times, and the world's first hospital was born here). Unlike typical wellness hotels, there is no strict calorie control here, only beach frolics in the afternoon, hydrotherapy using a lot of herbs and olive oil, nutritious organic food (vegetarian menu also provided), sunset views with after-dinner drinks... The room style is also simple and rustic, belonging to the currently popular Wabi-Sabi style. The hotel belongs to Laid-back luxury. The interior and exterior design are very special. The overall look is super good. It gives people a super relaxed and integrated feeling into nature and the island. Shared area The atmosphere is particularly good at the pool and the unbeatable comfortable sun bed. The dining area is particularly large, extending from the poolside to the outdoor area where you can see the sea view. Sitting on the sofa drinking a glass of red wine, listening to songs, watching the sea, reading a book, playing with a mobile phone, you can really immerse yourself in the whole relaxing natural environment and don't even want to leave. The private beach is big enough and long enough, the sea water is particularly clear, we go directly to lie down after breakfast every day There is also a particularly good-looking beach bag in the room, super good-looking and super photogenic There are many choices for breakfast and it's delicious! The service is good enough, it feels like the Greeks are super enthusiastic and friendly Every day is a sunbath during the day and listening to the sea and drinking at night. Life really can't be more comfortable. Laid-back luxury at its finest This niche hotel is really highly recommended
Greece Nisyros: Nikia Village to Stefanos Crater Pumice Stone Boiling Mud Pot Walk
#worthitornot Nisyros is the sleeper. Ferry from Kos (€10–14, 45 min, Blue Star or Nissiros Express, summer twice daily). I stayed in Nikia, the white cubist village on the crater rim, and walked the 1.5 km paved path down to Stefanos—the active hydrothermal crater floor, 250 m across, ringed by pumice and yellow sulphur cones. You descend a stair into the bowl; the ground hisses, mud pots bubble at 60–80°C, and the center "boils" with steam vents. No rail, no guide mandatory, €2 donation box at the path head. I wore sandals and wished for closed shoes—pumice is sharp, sulphur stains fabric. The smell is eggy but lighter than Vulcano. Nikia itself has one kafenio (€3 Greek coffee, cash only). A mistake: I trusted the midday ferry back and missed the 15:00 departure, stranded 3h—check the printed timetable at the Nikia bus stop, not just the app. The island runs on siesta logic; shops shut 14–17. Discussion: is a walkable boiling crater with no crowds better value than the famous Santorini caldera, or does it lack the scale people expect?
Telendos, Greece; The unknown Instagram friendly Island
This small unknown island is found in the south eastern Aegean Sea.It is only 15 kilometers from Kos Island in the area the Greeks call the Dodecanese Islands. It is possible to reach Telendos in a day trip from Kos with either a tour operator or by local ferry. The tour operators go from Kos town and the local ferry departure from Mastichari Bay to Kalymnos. Then you need a second boat from Masouri to Telendos. Once you arrive at the tiny port village you can enjoy a delicious fresh seafood lunch in a local taverna. Afterwards it is possible to hike up to a small church on the hilltops about three hours return trip, or find a secluded sandy bay. The water is clear and warm during the summer months and I recommend bringing snorkeling equipment because it is possible to find an octopus. Stunning place. Great views. I suggest going either very early in the morning or late in the evening around sunset. There's a small bar at the top for snacks and coffee. The therma itself is small, but the beach is breath taking. A must visit in Kos.
