Banyan Tree Nanjing | A private hot spring nestled on the cliffs of a quarry! Here's my experience after a two-day, one-night stay at Banyan Tree Nanjing, one of the city's most luxurious hotels: 1. Contact from the butler after booking ✔️ Received a QR code for park entry. As the hotel is located within the Nanjing Garden Expo Park, each vehicle requires a code to enter. Tip: Entry is only possible through the Dongning Gate. Afterward, you can enter and exit the hotel using your room card. ✔️ The butler added me on WeChat and provided some helpful tips and reminders in advance. 2. Check-in upon arrival ✔️ As soon as I entered, the doorman enthusiastically took my luggage and guided me to the check-in area. Once seated, I was immediately offered tea, pastries, and a hot towel. This thoughtful gesture was something I hadn't experienced at other hotels. The tea was introduced as monk fruit tea, with a sweet and sour taste. Afterward, the butler escorted me to my room, providing various introductions along the way. 3. Stayed in the "Quarry Secret Realm Family Room" ✔️ The room was richly decorated with quarry stone elements, which my child loved. ✔️ The first round of minibar items was free, along with welcome fruits and flower arrangements. The wooden room card felt luxurious. ✔️ The overall quality of the room's decoration was excellent, with a clear and reasonable layout. The private hot spring on the balcony directly faced the quarry and used Tangshan hot spring water. Each room has its own private hot spring. ❌ For those with concerns about cleanliness, it's recommended to bring your own disinfectant spray for the private hot spring tub. Additionally, the private hot spring area lacked some privacy, as some rooms could see into others. A written notice in the room informed us that curtains were being installed on the railings. ✔️ Turn-down service was provided after 6 p.m. I requested essential oils, and they provided extra mineral water and towels, along with a small turtle as a hot spring gift. Upon check-out, I also received a quarry stone diffuser as a gift. 4. Public areas: ✔️ The hotel lobby is grand and offers many photo opportunities. The day I checked in was overcast, so the overall ambiance wasn't as bright. It would be great for photos during sunset. Day and night offer different viewing experiences. The hotel has nine floors, with the lobby on the eighth. The lower the floor, the closer you are to the bottom of the quarry.
