Shrine with the Five Dragon Gods】Tanashi Shrine

Located a 6-minute walk from Tanashi Station. Dragons are enshrined everywhere in Tanashi Shrine. Known as the Five Dragon Gods, they are directional deities based on feng shui, believed to lead people in better directions. Tanashi Shrine enshrines the Five Dragon Gods based on the philosophy of the Five Elements, with the Golden Dragon God in the central main hall, the Azure Dragon God in the east, the Vermilion Dragon God in the south, the White Dragon God in the west, and the Black Dragon God in the north as protectors. Additionally, the large ginkgo tree on the shrine grounds is cherished by many as the sacred tree of each Dragon God. Amulets related to the five dragons are also sold.
