Osaka Travel Review: A Cute and Delightful Experience!

Hello everyone~ Today, Boom is taking you on a trip to Osaka, Japan! Osaka is such a charming city, and I must say, it’s truly delightful. From the food to the attractions, and even the incredibly kind locals, it’s impossible not to fall in love with Osaka, whether it’s your first visit or your second. You’ll find yourself wanting to come back again and again! ⸻ Getting to Osaka We started our trip by flying directly to Kansai International Airport. The airport is stunning, located on an artificial island in the sea, with a very modern design. After passing through immigration and collecting our luggage, we chose to take the Haruka Express train to Osaka city. The journey took about 50 minutes, and the ride was comfortable with beautiful views of the sea and city along the way. It was such a relaxing start to the trip! ⸻ Accommodation in Namba: Convenient and Central We decided to stay in the Namba area because it’s super convenient for getting around. It’s close to train stations and shopping areas, and it’s packed with amazing restaurants. Just stepping out of the hotel, you’ll find plenty of delicious food options! The hotel we stayed at was lovely, clean, and had excellent service. The rooms were spacious, with free Wi-Fi and even a washing machine available. We loved it! ⸻ What to Eat in Osaka? A Foodie’s Paradise! Osaka is known as the "Kitchen of Japan" because of its abundance of delicious food. Here are some must-try dishes: 1. Takoyaki Takoyaki is a popular street food in Osaka. These are round balls made from batter mixed with octopus, topped with sweet sauce, mayonnaise, and bonito flakes. Eating them hot off the grill is heavenly! We tried them at Dotonbori, where there are rows of Takoyaki stalls. Walking and eating Takoyaki was such a fun experience. 2. Okonomiyaki Okonomiyaki is a Japanese savory pancake made with ingredients like cabbage, pork, shrimp, or octopus, cooked on a hot griddle and topped with special sauce and mayonnaise. It’s very filling and flavorful. We enjoyed it at a small restaurant in Namba, which added to the cozy atmosphere. 3. Kushikatsu Kushikatsu are skewered and fried foods that are crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. There’s a variety to choose from, like pork, shrimp, and mushrooms, served with a special dipping sauce. It’s perfect as a snack or a full meal. 4. Sushi and Sashimi at Kuromon Market Kuromon Market is filled with fresh seafood, and the sushi and sashimi here are incredibly fresh. Eating raw fish that melts in your mouth was an unforgettable experience. 5. Ramen Osaka has many ramen shops with different styles. We loved the rich pork bone broth ramen with chewy noodles served hot. It was absolutely delicious. ⸻ Top Attractions in Osaka 1. Osaka Castle This iconic landmark of the city is stunning, surrounded by a large park with lush greenery. When we visited, the cherry blossoms were in bloom, adding to the magical atmosphere. Inside the castle, there’s a museum where you can learn about its history. For photography enthusiasts, the view from the top of the castle is breathtaking. 2. Dotonbori Dotonbori is a vibrant area for shopping and dining, with colorful neon lights, charming restaurants, and the famous giant crab sign that’s a must-see. Walking around here feels like being in a Japanese movie. 3. Shinsaibashi Shinsaibashi is a shopping street filled with fashion stores and cute souvenirs. Make sure to bring extra cash because there are so many adorable things to buy! 4. Universal Studios Japan For theme park lovers, Universal Studios Japan is a must-visit. It features fun rides and attractions based on popular movies like Harry Potter, Minions, and more. The atmosphere is fantastic, and you can easily spend the whole day here. ⸻ The Warmth of Osaka’s People The locals in Osaka are incredibly kind. Whenever we asked for directions or needed help, they always smiled and spoke simple English to assist us. Sometimes, their acts of kindness exceeded our expectations, making us feel like we were visiting a friend’s warm and welcoming home. ⸻ Atmosphere and Feelings After the Trip Osaka is a city that beautifully blends tradition with modernity. It has both towering modern buildings and serene temples. Each attraction is full of charm, and the locals are friendly and welcoming. The food is so delicious that it deserves a round of applause.
