💍 Engagement Anniversary: A Sweet Trip for Three on Baibin Mountain This year, we chose the most nature-inspired and heartwarming way to celebrate our engagement anniversary – a three-person hike up Baibin Mountain in Pingtung! Starting from the back of Majia Mountain, the entire hike was about $6.5$ kilometers and took about $4 hours, a sweet challenge with just the right time and distance for us. The morning air was fresh with the scent of grass and trees. Our daughter walked in the middle, sometimes holding her father's hand, sometimes chasing after her mother's figure, her laughter on the mountain path becoming the most beautiful background music. The forests of Baibin Mountain are beautiful, and although it was the back mountain path, it was full of fun and exploration. When we arrived at the famous Baibin Tree, its massive trunk and sprawling roots were different from what we had imagined, making us burst into laughter. It turned out to be the legendary Baibin Tree, the one that makes you look like three lines. The whole family took a commemorative photo around the famous tree. This was not just a record of our hike, but also another solid and powerful milestone in our married life. What was most touching was that, during a brief respite, we recalled the sweet moments of our engagement. Standing hand-in-hand on a high vantage point overlooking the vast Pingtung Plain, we deeply understood that marriage is like climbing a mountain: though there are arduous uphill climbs, as long as we support each other and share the same goal, we can share the breathtaking scenery at the summit, making every step count. On the way down, we encountered little surprises. Unexpectedly, a group of monkeys—about twenty in total—swung from the treetops to another hilltop. There were large monkeys, small monkeys, and mother monkeys carrying their babies. It was both amusing and a little scary—the monkeys might steal our backpacks. We cautiously made our way down. After successfully reaching the bottom, as is customary, we rewarded ourselves for the hike by heading straight to the Linali Shoe-Taking Tribe, a place brimming with indigenous charm. Sitting on stone seats, we savored warm, fragrant millet donuts and chilled lemon millet jelly. This simple dessert perfectly concluded this journey filled with sweat and love.
