Qingzhou smiles

of SplendorThe ancient city of Qingzhou, has the only county-level 'National First-Class Museum' in the country! Such an honor is directly related to the 'settlement' of the Buddha statues unearthed from the Longxing Temple site. At the end of the last century, a large number of Buddha statues spanning from the Northern Wei to the Northern Song Dynasty were unearthed here, directly winning the 'Top Ten Archaeological Discoveries' of the year, and becoming one of the hundred archaeological achievements of the 20th century. The highest standard of Buddhist statues in China is the Northern Qi. The peak of the Northern Qi statues is in the Longxing Temple in Qingzhou. Not only that, Longxing Temple is also the only stone carving example of the 'Cao Yi out of water' style that remains today. Just looking at the individual statues, the Buddha statues of Longxing Temple are the best in the country. If you have seen the Qingzhou statues, you will be shocked by their moving beauty. I once saw a CCTV short documentary 'If National Treasures Could Talk' introducing Qingzhou statues, the ending words broke the defense: 'In these countless scars, I saw one historical detail after another. In these star-like fragments, I saw the footsteps of mankind moving forward in suffering. We come into the world crying, but we can go to eternity with a smile.' This sentence is the original motivation for me to come here. It's hard to describe in words how I feel when I see the smile of Qingzhou, just like when I see the smile of Angkor. The more suffering, the more people entrust the compassion of gods and Buddhas. The smile that has experienced precipitation, a glance of ten thousand years....
