Salalah, Oman - A Place to Visit Again

Salalah is a famous summer resort in the Middle East. The average temperature is in the 20s from June to August, making it a great place for a vacation. I stayed there for two days and didn't see a single Chinese person. It's hard to imagine that there are so many trees and rivers on the Arabian Peninsula. You can often see cattle, sheep, and camels on the roadside. The weather is cool and foggy by the sea at low altitudes. Eastern attractions: Ayn Athum Waterfall, where you can see the largest waterfall in the area; Wadi Darbat, where you can try ziplining and take a boat ride on the lake; Tawi Atayr, where you can see a huge sinkhole; Jabal Samhan, where you can see the clouds below your feet; and the Zheng He Monument. Flights: You can fly directly from Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, or Muscat. Flights from Sharjah and Abu Dhabi are relatively cheap, and there are many options. Hotels: The Crown Plaza by the sea is quite old, costing about 1,300 per night. I wouldn't have chosen this hotel if I hadn't used a free accommodation voucher. It must have opened 20 or 30 years ago. The hotel lobby even has a public phone, and the room sofas are antiques. However, it's by the sea, so the view is nice, and the breakfast is good. The beach is closed due to the large waves. IHG Diamond members are upgraded to suites.
