Sanya Wuzhizhou Island

1️⃣ When visiting Sanya Wuzhizhou Island, make sure to check the weather. The weather is crucial for the scenery you'll see. 2️⃣ To get to Wuzhizhou Island, you need to take a boat. The entrance ticket + round-trip ferry ticket is 140 yuan. Boat operating hours are from 8 AM to 4 PM, and the journey takes 15 to 20 minutes. If you get seasick or are not used to taking boats, it's recommended to sit at the back of the boat, as the front tends to be bumpier and can easily cause seasickness. 3️⃣ The sightseeing bus ticket counter and boarding point are on the right side after entering the island. When you check your ticket for the sightseeing bus, you'll receive a postcard. You can check in and get a stamp at the second and sixth stops. There are two types of sightseeing buses on the island: a one-way tour and a city walk tour. The one-way ticket costs 60 yuan per person, and the city walk ticket costs 138 yuan per person. With the city walk ticket, you can get off at stops to explore, and there's no time limit for your visit. After exploring a scenic spot, you can return to the boarding point to wait for the next bus. 4️⃣ After entering the island, there's a beach on the left side. Walk further, and you'll see a red lighthouse. Depending on the crowd on the day, you can decide whether to take the sightseeing bus to the attractions first or go to the beach. 5️⃣ Wuzhizhou Island has a total of 6 attractions: Ocean Star ➡️ Sunrise Rock ➡️ Lover's Valley ➡️ Lover's Island ➡️ Teahouse ➡️ Private Customization; 🟢️ At Ocean Star, you can see the live scoreboard and the "Sea Pianist" (a specific photo spot). 🟠️ Sunrise Rock is the highest point on Wuzhizhou Island and the best spot to watch the sunrise. However, watching the sunrise requires staying overnight on the island. Currently, there is only one hotel on the island, which is quite expensive. Aside from the sunrise, there are no other special experiences, so if you're short on time, you can skip it. 🟢️ Lover's Valley is mainly a pet paradise, where you can see small animals like alpacas 🦙, ostriches, Sulcata tortoises 🐢, peacocks 🦚, parrots 🦜, mini pigs 🐷, and more. Food for feeding the animals is sold, but it's not recommended to buy it as there aren't many of each animal. 🟢️ Lover's Island: The sea here has a glass-like appearance, with many corals. When I visited, it was a cloudy day with strong winds and large waves 🌊, and a cordon was set up, so I didn't see the "jellyfish sea" (crystal clear water). 🟠️ Teahouse: At this stop, you can try some Hainanese specialty foods. Those who bought the city walk ticket can get a free bowl of tea. 🟢️ Private Customization is the last stop and the filming location for the movie "Personal Tailor." It has a swimming pool, which is used for diving training and not accessible to others. Next to the pool, there's a white "bird's nest"-like structure, along with many photo props, including swings, a "happy tree" branch, and a Wuzhizhou Island sign. 6️⃣ There are many corals on the beach, so it's not suitable to walk barefoot. You should prepare a pair of comfortable slippers. There are foot-washing stations on the island, but you might need to wait in line when it's crowded. 7️⃣ For cost-effective accommodation, you can stay at guesthouses in Houhai Village. Houhai Village is not far from the Wuzhizhou Island ferry terminal and can be reached on foot.
