Every February, Odori Park, which stretches across the center of Sapporo, hosts a 1.5-kilometer-long fantasy of ice and snow. This is the famous "Snow Festival," the highlight of Sapporo's winter. Sculptors from around the world use pure white snow and crystal-clear ice to create massive snow statues and ice sculptures, enhanced by spectacular light shows that make Sapporo's nights even more dazzling. Besides the Odori venue, the Susukino site also showcases a variety of imaginative ice sculptures. The Snow Festival is also a lively marketplace. Various food stalls offer an array of delights such as skewers, fried chicken, wagyu beef, coffee, and hot milk.
