MOUNT MERBABU

Mount Merbabu is known through pre-Islamic texts as Mount Damalung or Mount Pam(a)rihan. On the slopes there was once a famous hermitage and was visited by Bujangga Manik in the 15th century. According to etymology, "merbabu" comes from the combination of the words "meru" (mountain) and "abu" (ash). This name only appeared in Dutch records. This mountain had erupted in 1560 and 1797. It was also reported that in 1570 it had erupted, but confirmation and further research has not been done. The peak of Mount Merbabu is at an altitude of 3,145 meters above sea level. Mount Merbabu has an area of Bukit Dipterocarp Forest, Upper Dipterocarp Forest, Montane Forest, and Ericaceous forest or mountain forest. #triplocal #themeparks #nationalpark #lakes #beaches #infinitypool

📍Sowanan Village, Ngablak, Magelang I came here when i was at 11th grade or second year of high school. It was a really cool experience. We call it “live in”. We all come from a city center, for like a week, we will stay in a village. We will stay at the people’s house there. We go to work with them, help them with their work, eat with them, get to know their everyday activities. It’s so interesting for me. Even though i was sick there. The weather was so weird. It was so hot in the day, but so cold at night. My family (the family whose house i lived in) took me to the doctor. I still keep in touch with them. It’s been 7 years. I hope i can come back one day with my boyfriend. It was such a happy experience to live a simple life. Just blended in with the nature. #givethanks #givethanks

the Tianjin Binhai Library, a 33,700m2 cultural centre featuring a luminous spherical auditorium around which floor-to-ceiling bookcases cascade. The undulating bookshelf is the building’s main spatial device, and is used both to frame the space and to create stairs, seating, the layered ceiling and even louvres on the façade. Tianjin Binhai Library was designed and built in a record-breaking time of only three years due to a tight schedule imposed by the local municipality. Next to many media rooms it offers space for 1,2 million books. The library was commissioned by Tianjin Binhai Municipality and is located in the cultural centre of Binhai district in Tianjin, a coastal metropolis outside Beijing, China. The library, located adjacent to a park, is one of a cluster of five cultural buildings designed by an international cadre of architects including Bernard Tschumi Architects, Bing Thom Architects, HH Design and MVRDV. All buildings are connected by a public corridor underneath a glass canopy designed by GMP.
