[Seoul] Korean traditional Dongmyo temple with snow falling

#SeoulTravel Dongmyo Shrine is a historic shrine in Seoul, South Korea, dedicated to Guan Yu, a famous general during the Three Kingdoms period of China. This is one of the few shrines in Korea that enshrines Chinese historical figures, and it attracts many tourists interested in history and culture. Dongmyo Shrine was built in 1599 by the order of King Seonjo, the 14th king of the Joseon Dynasty, to pray for peace and prosperity for the country and to protect the country from foreign invasion. Guan Yu is regarded as a symbol of loyalty and bravery in East Asian culture, and therefore became the main deity of this shrine. The East Temple has been renovated many times in history, and the existing buildings are mainly the results of reconstruction in the early 20th century. The architecture of the Dongmyo Temple combines traditional Korean and classical Chinese architectural elements. The roof of the main hall adopts the traditional Korean gable design and is decorated with exquisite wood carvings and paintings. There is also a stone tablet in the temple, which records Guan Yu's life and deeds and the history of the East Temple.
