Explore the World of Books: Songpa Book Museum

#cityplaybook If you're looking for a peaceful and interesting place to visit in Seoul, the Songpa Book Museum at 77 Songpa-daero 37-gil in Songpa District is a fantastic choice, and it's completely free to enter! This museum has three levels, each offering something different. Downstairs, in the basement, you can peer through a window to see where the museum keeps its book collection, which is quite a unique sight. On the main floor, you'll find bookshelves, an information desk, and a nice little coffee spot. One of the best parts is on the way to the second floor. Instead of just taking the elevator, try the stairs through the "Eoullim Hall." In this area, there's a special open space with comfortable seating where you can pick any book you like and simply sit down to read. The lighting is great, making it easy to focus and enjoy your chosen read. The second floor is home to fascinating exhibits. You'll see creative displays, like "flying bookshelves," and a collection of personal items and writings from various authors. They feature works from well-known writers such as Ha Seong-nan, Jung Jin-ho (who creates picture books), and Kim Hoon. It's a wonderful way to learn about Korean literature and the people behind the stories. The museum itself is quite big, so you can easily spend a good amount of time here, especially if you plan to join one of their experiences (you might need to book ahead for those). Plus, right outside the museum, you'll find the lovely Jupinamujeongwon Garden. If the weather's nice, it's highly recommended to take a walk through the garden after your museum visit. Parking is available, and the first 30 minutes are free, then it's a small charge every five minutes. Just remember that the museum is closed on Mondays and on public holidays. Overall, the Songpa Book Museum is a wonderful and calm place to explore if you love books #museum #playground
