We continue our gastronomic travel in China with introduction of widely spread, well known and daily eaten dishes. Previous post was dedicated to the Guangdong Cantonese cuisine. For this time we will talk about typical North West dishes. Mian or noodles. It just sounds simple but in China you will meet the variety of this product and classification will be based on size and shape of noodles made of wheat flour. At the picture you can see so called mao xi , which named so because it is very thing and compared to the hair in its thickness. The soup itself is a masterpiece of culinary! The Chief put there one thousand different species! Another one dish originally come from North East 东北 region but was very warm excepted in the north west and even modified a little. Huang Men Ji 黄焖鸡 is a fried and braised chicken in the souse with special species like ginger, soy bean souse and oyster sauce. The must be included ingredients are potato and several vegetables you can pick up by your self before cooking. Boiled rise is a typical garnish. That was very beautiful and nice restaurant with authentic atmosphere and very creative decoration. One thing that must be mentioned in Xi'an is the Hukou Waterfall. Many tourists who come to Xi'an ignore this attraction or feel that it takes too long and give up and spend their time on the commercialized Muslim Street instead. I personally feel that it is difficult to imagine the power of nature if you don’t experience it yourself, and you can’t feel the shock just by looking at the photos. .

The wall itself is wide and sturdy, with impressive gates and watchtowers that make you imagine what life was like centuries ago. There are plenty of spots to stop, take photos, and simply enjoy the view. Walking the wall at sunset was especially magical, with golden light bathing the stones.
