A Century-Old Building—The First Premier of the Republic of China Open to the Public for Free

Designed by Taichang Trading Company, he lived here for 18 years and met important historical figures such as Sun Yat-sen and Liang Qichao. In that turbulent era, he was assassinated on Wukang Road. 📝 Check-in Guide: The Tang residence consists of two buildings, east and west, featuring the British Queen Anne Revival style with colonial-style verandas. It is a three-story brick and wood structure with a red tile sloping roof. The restoration team repaired the decorative facade with alternating blue and red bricks characteristic of Shanghai style, referenced classic elements from the Peace Hotel, and restored the copper pointed weather vane, adding the finishing touch to this century-old building. It’s perfect for photo souvenirs. Limited edition postcards are available, and you can get them stamped on-site.
