Dalong Lake — Where Mountains Meet Waters

#chinatravel On a sunny weekend, we drove 1.5 hours from Nanning to the famous Shanglin Dalong Lake Scenic Area, and it was well worth the trip. The lake is surrounded by dramatic karst mountains, with clear waters reflecting the sky — an absolute treat for the eyes. I recommend taking the official scenic boat (¥50 per person, 50 minutes), which is safer than private village boats, and hopping on the sightseeing bus (¥10) unless you feel like walking the short 1–2 km from the entrance. The best photo spot is right where you first see the lake from the road — the view is breathtaking. Try the local fried snacks sold by villagers, though they can be a bit oily, so pair them with a cold drink. Parking is ¥10 per car. If you’re looking for a relaxing day trip from Nanning with beautiful scenery and great photo ops, Dalong Lake won’t disappoint.
