The Douluo Celestial Palace

The Douluo Celestial Scenic Area is located in the Kuaiji Mountain Range in Shaoxing, Zhejiang. The scenic area consists of the Maitreya Hermitage created by the Eastern Jin Dynasty's eminent monk Zhi Dun and the Baolin Peak, situated at the top of Baolin Mountain (formerly known as Ke Mountain) in the Daxianglin Scenic Area of Keqiao District (formerly Shaoxing County); it is adjacent to the south to the calligraphy holy land Lanting, echoes the Putuo Mountain, the sea and Buddhist country, to the east, and faces the Hangzhou city area to the west. The scenic area has a planned area of 1,300 mu, with a central axis that is 2,500 meters long, and a construction area of nearly 100,000 square meters. It consists of two major architectural complexes: the Douluo Celestial Palace (the Pure Land in Heaven) and the Kuaiji Mountain Longhua Temple (the Pure Land on Earth). The architectural planning of the scenic area is based on classics such as the 'Sutra of Ascension' and the 'Sutra of Descension', adhering to the planning and design concept of Mr. Nan Huaijin: 'Intensive use of resources, natural Daoist laws'. It occupies the smallest land area to create the largest usable space. The architectural complex is ingeniously designed along the mountain, with full utilization of space and a reasonable functional layout according to the law, turning a mere 110 mu of construction land into a large Buddhist cultural tourism scenic area that can accommodate more than 3 million visitors annually.
