Checking in at Wenbi Park in Shizong County The reason why Shizong County got its name is that during the Tang Dynasty, the tribal leader Shizong led his people to settle in Ninongdian (now Xihua Village outside Shizong County town). This name is not only a commemoration of this historical figure but also reflects the profound historical and cultural heritage of the local area. Wenbi Park in Shizong County is named after an important landmark within it—the Wenbi Tower. The Wenbi Tower stands on the top of Wenbi Mountain on the southeast side of Shizong County town in Qujing City, Yunnan Province. This mountain was named 'Pen Mountain' because of the Wenbi Tower built during the Qing Dynasty. The Wenbi Tower was built in 1997 on the foundation of the original ancient tower site from the Qing Dynasty and has become a major landscape in Shizong County. To protect and utilize this historical and cultural heritage, and further enhance the environmental and recreational value of the area, the Shizong County government decided to plan and create a park around the mountain area of the Wenbi Tower and named it 'Wenbi Park'. It is also the hometown of He Guizhen, the teacher of Emperor Xianfeng of the Qing Dynasty, and Dou Xu, the author of the long couplets of Yueyang Tower, thus enjoying the reputation of 'Hometown of the Emperor's Teacher and the Land of Couplets'. After returning from the Phoenix Valley, one can take a trip to the magnificent Wenbi Park, which is full of interest and sentiment, and compose a small poem to express one's feelings. The Wenbi Tower is tall and spectacular, with people flowing like water into the night. The colorful lights dazzle, and the elegant waltz turns. The dreamy flow of gold lingers in the ears, and the fountain of jade moves the heartstrings. The dragon's chant spreads a cool breeze, and the phoenix's call brings a gentle wind into the painting.
