Wuzhen

Wuzhen is located at the northern end of Tongxiang City, Zhejiang Province, and is known as one of the six ancient towns in the south of the Yangtze River along with Zhouzhuang, Tongli, Luxun, Xitang, and Nanxun. It has completely preserved the appearance and layout of the ancient water town from the late Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China period, with streets formed by rivers, bridges connecting streets, houses built along the river, and the integration of water and town. The local residents still live in these old houses. Wuzhen is known as the 'land of fish and rice, the mansion of silk', and is a model of the 'small bridges, flowing water, and households' in the water towns of the south of the Yangtze River.
