Hobbiton Village

Hobbiton, located in the Waikato region of New Zealand's North Island, is where the Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit movies were filmed! The sets remain intact and are now a popular tourist destination! Guided tours are available here. Because it's not particularly large, tours last about two and a half hours, including time for a beer at the end. It's quite popular and reservations fill up quickly, so we recommend booking early once you've set your dates. The set, blending in with nature, is adorable, and you'll feel like you're a Hobbit!
