The journey to the restaurant itself is an adventure especially after dark as street lights are few and it feels like you are seeking out a hidden treasure! 💎 You might want to avoid this area during the heavy monsoon season. It feels like you are in Thailand with the servers and customers often speaking Thai. There are no air-conditioning or private rooms but the tables are often huge, able to accommodate big families. It’s not posh but the food is soooooo good! I personally always order the kerabu pauh, pandan chicken and santan prawns because I love it! Tomyam, green curry, kengsom…it’s all good! They have a famous ‘volcano chicken’ which is a sight to behold but am not in love with its flavour. You might want to try their deep fried kangkung, ‘ban suan’ fish, and otak-otak too. This is not Muslim friendly so they do have a wide selection of pork dishese too. You can get good halal Thai dishes at another ‘Chiang Mai Restaurant’ in Kota Bharu itself.
