East lake Cherry Blossom Garden is a joint investment and planting of 10000 trees by China and Japan in 1998. The first batch of cherry blossoms planted in the park were gifted to Deng Yingchao by Japanese friends, and then transferred from Deng Yingchao to Wuhan and Donghu.
