I finally found the coolest hotel in Wuhan

Renaissance Wuhan Hotel 💰️ Average Cost I stayed during the summer for ¥460 and got upgraded to a deluxe suite. The value for money was incredible; getting a suite at this price is a steal. 📍 Location The hotel is located at No. 160 Xudong Avenue, Wuchang District, a prime location. Rooms are hard to come by during cherry blossom season. It's a convenient location for popular attractions like East Lake Park, Hubei Museum, Wuhan University, Wuhan Xintiandi, and Li Huangpi Road, with taxi rides costing around ¥10-20. There's also a night market street and a Metro supermarket downstairs, perfect for evening strolls. 🏠 Room - 🏘️️️ Room Layout As a member, I was upgraded to a deluxe suite, a spacious 65 square meters. The suite has a well-designed layout, with distinct living and sleeping areas, providing ample space. The bed was very comfortable, ensuring a good night's sleep. However, the hotel is a bit older, so the facilities are somewhat dated, and the decor is more traditional with a retro feel. It might not appeal to those seeking a modern, trendy style, but it has its own charm. 🛌 Amenities While the facilities are a bit dated, they are well-maintained and meet daily needs. There were a few minor issues, such as the room's air conditioning not being adjustable, no power outlets by the bedside table, some slow-to-respond lights, a small bathtub, and the suite not having double sinks. However, these minor issues didn't detract from the overall experience, as the hotel excelled in other areas. 🧹 Soundproofing and Cleanliness The soundproofing was excellent, blocking out almost all outside noise, ensuring a quiet resting environment. The cleanliness was also impeccable, with spotless rooms, clean bedding, and no odor in the bathroom. The housekeeping staff was attentive; I left two items of clothing soaking in the sink intending to wash them later, and when I returned, the housekeeper had already washed and hung them up to dry. It was a very heartwarming gesture. 🍽️ Executive Lounge and Dining The executive lounge didn't disappoint. Among the many Marriott hotels I've stayed at, this lounge stands out. Every evening, they offer a set main course per person, which is a substantial offering. During my stay, they served pork ribs, steak, lamb chops, oysters, and prawns, all of excellent quality. The other dishes also varied each night, with delicious options like stir-fried lamb with scallions and braised duck. The soups were rich and flavorful, including corn and pork rib soup and mushroom and chicken soup. The fruit selection was a bit limited, with the usual watermelon, dragon fruit, oranges, and cantaloupe each night. Breakfast was equally impressive. Finding Eggs Benedict in a standard five-star hotel breakfast buffet shows the hotel's attention to detail. 💁 Service The service was top-notch. Upon arrival, I received a lovely welcome gift with a small cake, yogurt, a variety of fruits, cookies, a pen, a folder, and a handwritten welcome note from Ms. Wu, which was a delightful and touching surprise. The lounge staff was attentive and anticipated guests' needs, especially Kevin, who was exceptionally helpful and enthusiastic. On the first day, the air conditioning in my room was ineffective and noisy. After mentioning this to the restaurant manager at breakfast the next day, I was immediately moved to a new suite and given complimentary fruit. The hotel also followed up with a phone call to ensure the new room was comfortable. The service was truly exceptional. 💗 Other Tips 1. Communicate your needs to the hotel in advance, such as special requests for room amenities, and they will do their best to accommodate you. 2. The hotel is well-located, making taxi travel easy, but traffic can be heavy during peak hours, so allow extra time for travel. 3. The set main course in the lounge changes daily. Inquire with the staff in advance to plan your meals accordingly. Summary Overall, the Renaissance Wuhan Hotel offers excellent value. It's a great choice for both business trips and family vacations. Despite being 20 years old and having a few minor issues with the facilities, the outstanding service, high-quality dining, and generous member benefits make it one of my top choices among Marriott hotels in Wuhan. I will definitely stay here again!
