Qianfo Pavilion, Wuzhi County.

Qianfo Pavilion is located at the north end of South Street, Muzhen Town, Wuzhi County, Henan Province. It faces south and covers an area of 15 mu. It was first built in the 36th year of the Jiajing period of the Ming Dynasty (1557 AD) and was rebuilt in the 6th year of the Xianfeng period of the Qing Dynasty (1865 AD). The main components and architectural style of the Ming Dynasty were retained during the reconstruction. The original buildings include the mountain gate, the Buddha Hall, the Qianfo Pavilion, the Guandi Temple, and the Chenghuang Temple, which are the concrete manifestations of the unity of Buddhism and Taoism in the Ming and Qing Dynasties. The existing mountain gate, the Buddha Hall, and the Qianfo Pavilion are not on the same central axis, that is, the "three do not shine" reflects the unique architectural features of the Qianfo Pavilion complex. The main building Qianfo Pavilion·three-eave Xieshan corridor-style building, the upper layer is three rooms wide and three rooms deep, the middle and lower layers are five rooms wide and five rooms deep, with a total height of 17.8 meters, and the roof is covered with green glazed tiles. From the overall point of view, the building is magnificent, tall and simple, the architectural art is superb, and the carving art is exquisite. In terms of architecture, the eaves are deep, the corners are high, and the workmanship is fine. It is a rare three-eave Buddha Pavilion in Henan Province with high architectural art and historical value. On November 21, 1986, it was announced by the People's Government of Henan Province as the second batch of provincial cultural relics protection units, and on May 25, 2005, it was announced by the State Council as the sixth batch of national key cultural relics protection units.
