Xi'an City Xiangzi Temple

Xiangzi Temple, built in the Song Dynasty, flourished in the Yuan and Ming Dynasties. It is a Quanzhen Taoist temple. Legend has it that it was the former residence of Han Xiangzi, one of the Eight Immortals. There are more than ten Xiangzi Temples across the country, and the Xiangzi Temple inside the South Gate of Xi'an is where Han Xiangzi became a monk. Therefore, throughout the ages, the Xiangzi Temple in Xi'an has been regarded as the birthplace of Xiangzi culture. The temple covers an area of 2.5 acres, with a length of 88 meters from east to west and a maximum width of 7 meters from north to south. The temple complex consists of the temple area, the south courtyard, and the north courtyard. The temple area is divided into two parts: the front part consists of a square, the mountain gate, the incense spring, and the passing hall (Lingguang Hall); the rear part is the main hall, namely the Xiangzi Hall. There are more than ten Xiangzi Temples across the country, and the Xiangzi Temple in Xi'an is where Han Xiangzi became a monk. Therefore, throughout the ages, the Xiangzi Temple in Xi'an has been regarded as the birthplace of Xiangzi culture.
