The only Tibetan Buddhist temple in Xi'an

Guangren Temple is located in Lianhu District, Xi'an. It is the only Gelugpa monastery of Tibetan Buddhism in Shaanxi Province and the only main temple of Green Tara in China. It was first built in the 44th year of Emperor Kangxi's reign in the Qing Dynasty (1705). It was originally a temporary palace provided by Emperor Kangxi for lamas and living Buddhas from Tibet, Qinghai, Gansu and other places to come to Beijing for pilgrimage. Therefore, it is also called the Lama Temple. Guangren Temple is famous for its splendid Tibetan Buddhist colors. Its unique architectural style and bright decorations make it a unique Buddhist holy place. The temple houses one of the world's only remaining life-size statues of the 12-year-old Buddha, as well as the largest Thousand-Armed Guanyin in Shaanxi Province. It also has the only exquisite Thousand Buddha Hall in China, with extremely high historical and cultural value. We went there at noon on the weekend and it was crowded, and it was almost full of tourists when we took photos. It is recommended to avoid weekends and choose to visit on weekdays to better experience the quiet and solemn atmosphere of the temple. Guangren Temple is a cultural treasure of Xi'an.
