This time we were originally planning to join a 2-day tour group. But right before departure, we saw news about a bus accident and got scared off. Small group tours that only include accommodation and transportation costs are even more expensive than traveling independently. So we decided to go by ourselves. 2-day itinerary Day 1️⃣ Chengdu - Shuangqiao Valley Day 2️⃣ Changping Valley - Chengdu 🚙 Travel The chartered car cost from Chengdu is about 450-500. 🍠 We had booked a chartered car, but got stood up right before departure. 😠 We quickly found a shared ride on Didi Chuxing. The cost for two people was 280 + 20 for the bridge toll. Splitting the cost, it came to 150 per person. (We were three people sharing; it would be even cheaper with four.) You can get picked up and dropped off at the hotel, and it's more comfortable. Compared to the 130 per person for a 9-seater van from Chadianzi Bus Station, we decisively chose the former. 🏨 The homestay was 'Kairui Smart Hotel'. The owner gave us a room on the fourth floor. Opening the door, there was a large terrace with a great view. The restaurant on the first floor was very tasty. 👅 And the prices were very cheap. We had two meals and only spent 150! ☁️ Weather July and August are the rainy season, and the weather in the mountains is ever-changing. If there's no rain forecast and the cloud cover is sparse, Then it's likely to be good weather.～ 🏔️ Sightseeing Mount Siguniang has three scenic spots: Shuangqiao Valley, Changping Valley, and Haizi Valley. The most beautiful scenery is in Shuangqiao Valley. If you're short on time, it's recommended to only go there. The latter two are mainly for hiking and horse riding experiences; just choose one of them. Day 1️⃣ 🎫 The ticket + sightseeing bus ticket is 150 per person. You must buy tickets a few days in advance (important!). During peak season, it's crowded. I met several people who couldn't get tickets even one day in advance! 🚌 The sightseeing bus will take us to the highest point, at an altitude of about 3800m. For those who are afraid of altitude sickness, it's recommended to take a slice of American ginseng on the bus. I think it's more useful than oxygen.～ If you feel uncomfortable and can't catch your breath, You can drink some glucose. 🏞️ Choose the right side when boarding the bus. The scenery is almost all on the right side during the 40-plus minute journey. 🌊 Highly recommend rafting～90 per person. It's worth it! The most fun part of the trip. The current is very slow～ The whole journey is about 20 minutes. The water is visibly clear, and the scenery along the way is absolutely beautiful. Don't miss it when the weather is good!!! 🚕 There are yellow taxis available when leaving Shuangqiao Valley. Depending on the distance, it's about 10-15 per person. Day 2️⃣ The next morning we set off for Changping Valley. Along the way, you can clearly see the peak of Yao Mei. When we went, we also saw the full view of the mountain peak. We were so lucky! Although it's all plank roads without much climbing, Hiking at high altitude is indeed strenuous. The heart rate stays above 100. Overall, Changping Valley is not as scenic as Shuangqiao Valley, But if you have enough time, it's still worth experiencing.～
