⚠️ Road conditions:
First 200km is fully paved road; last 18km is rural gravel and dirt road with many potholes.
SUV: easily reach the hiking start point;
Regular family car: can slowly reach the village entrance, cannot drive to the deepest Shuicaoping, must park halfway up the mountain.
Public Transport (not recommended)
Direct bus from Chengdu Chadianzi to Xiaojin County, then charter a car 30km to the valley entrance, round trip charter about 150 RMB, suitable for group travel.
Golden Link Route
Mu'er Zhaigou → Siguniang Mountain Shuangqiao Valley → Jiajinshan, a two-day niche loop in Western Sichuan, avoiding main scenic area crowds.

7. Safety and Pitfall Tips (Very Important)
Road Conditions Reminder: Sedans cannot reach Shuicaoping, must park halfway and walk; muddy and slippery dirt roads after rain, sedans not recommended on rainy days.
Communication Issues: No mobile signal deep in the valley, travel in groups, download offline tracks in advance, do not enter wild mountain valleys alone.
Altitude Sickness Tips: Walk slowly, avoid running or jumping; first-time visitors to the plateau should prepare oxygen bottles.
Mountain Entry Rules: For long trips to Jiujia Lake and Niulan Lake, hire a local guide to avoid getting lost; do not enter caves or underground rivers alone.
