From SHA, passengers can take the subway to Hongqiao Railway Station and then catch one of the frequent high-speed trains to Jiaxing South Railway Station. Jiaxing Railway Station, located in the city center, has been recently renovated and expanded to accommodate the growing number of passengers. The station now boasts three platforms serving six tracks, with a peak-time capacity of 2,300 people per hour. The new design integrates the station with the surrounding environment, creating a "train station in the forest".
