China Salt Museum

The China Salt Museum is located in Yancheng, Jiangsu Province, with a total investment of 190 million yuan, a building area of 18,000 square meters, and opened to the public in November 2008. It is the only large-scale thematic museum in the country approved by the State Council that comprehensively reflects the history and civilization of Chinese sea salt. The architectural design was led by Mr. Cheng Taining, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and winner of the highest award in Chinese architectural design, the 'Liang Sicheng' award. The museum name was inscribed by the famous calligrapher Mr. Shen Peng. The sculpture-like building with salt crystal shapes allows visitors to appreciate the historical civilization of our ancestors 'boiling the sea for salt'. Yancheng  Jiangsu
