Autumn tour to Daming Temple

Daming Temple, located in the northwest suburb of Yangzhou City, Jiangsu Province, has been approved by the State Council to be included in the list of the sixth batch of national key cultural relics protection units. Daming Temple, named for its initial construction during the Daming period of Emperor Xiaowu of the Southern Dynasty (457-464). Over the past 1500 years, the name of the temple has changed many times, such as 'Qiling Temple', 'West Temple' in the Sui Dynasty, and 'Chengping' in the late Tang Dynasty. In the Qing Dynasty, due to the taboo of the two characters 'Daming', it was once called 'Qiling Temple', and in the 30th year of Qianlong, the emperor personally inscribed the title 'Chiji Fajing Temple'. In 1980, Daming Temple was restored to its original name. In 2002, it was rated as a national AAAA level scenic spot.
